Great Big Story- Feather King

Raising Rooster with the Feather King
What came first: the rooster or its beautiful plumage. For Tom Whiting, the owner and founder of
Whiting Farms, the two go hand in hand. The Colorado-based poultry genetics and production company specializes in breeding roosters whose stunning feathers are mainly sold for fly tying. With a rooster taking a full year to grow to maturity and 80,000 on site. Whiting's work is a true labor
of love.

Fly Fishing Film Tour 17'

The Fly Fishing Tour film wagon drives into Denver this weekend for a couple of shows, just to break up the monotony of winter and work. I am particularly motivated to see Corozan from Off the Grid Studios, as our friend Bryan Gregson did some work on the film, and shared some of the details with Mary and I while in Belize. Sounds like a fantastic story of an amazing person.

The show will be held downtown at the City Amphitheater , a fantastic venue for these films with ample seating, great screen and good sound. Two shows, 4pm and 7:30 pm. Being the old folks, we like the 4pm show, not as loud and you don't have listen to the want-bee's flyfisherman.
Enjoy, looks like a good line of films.

New Boat Smell

New Year, New Boat

Always nice to have fresh new rubber to start off 2017. Once again Riverboat Works did a nice job with our build and the special items we wanted. Our other Hyside lasted 9 years and logged well over 5500 river miles. I am sure we will get many more years from this boat, as we will share many more river miles with the Adipose skiff. Nice to have a boat for all waters, well except a flats boat:( Guess I  will have to retire first for that one.

October Flashback

On a day when the snow has fallen non-stop and temperatures are
near zero, it was nice to receive an email with a few photos from our
recent trip to Belize.
A bend in the rod bring warmth to the day. Oh so ready to head
back for more.
