Who said those who getting up at dark, are rewarded two fold. As mentioned on Fridays post, the streams
and rivers seemed to be receding at record pace over the last couple of days. With that in mind, I was not going
to spend another weekend idle.
Saturday the edges were clear and although the middle of the river was still off color, this was my hope, so I could throw some bug bugs and see who would chase. Alarm set for o'dark thirty, boat readied on Friday night so we could get out of dodge.
Thought I would start out with Craven's Dirty Hippy, as I have not had a chance to give it a fair shot.
As you can see from the before and after shot, the fish devoured it. Fish after fish slashed, smacked, and
ate the fly all weekend, well at least till the sun was up and full.
Proof
The Dirty Hippy does really nice in shallow water, what a nice fly. This is a keeper.
