Streamer Dreamin !

Waitin for Ms. Floatfisher to wrap up the day, and the mind is starting to wonder toward our upcoming Montana Trip. Looking forward to 11 days of fishing the Yellowstone and Missouri, throwing all kinds  of junk at fish. Have been organizing the streamer boxes finally! Two full double-sided boxes with leif inserts and still have flies to stick in foam. Love it. Now got to organize the nymph shit from this summer, it is a mess.

HAPPY LABOR DAY FROM FLOATFISHER

True Inflatable Driftboat- by NRS

If you have been reading all the recent articles from the Fly Tackle Dealer show from a  week or so ago, one of the hits of the show was the new Clearwater Drifter by NRS. In what little information is out there on the craft, it is truly inflatable with a drop stitch floor making it a very solid floor. Having not seen it, I have no details on the frame and how it attaches, but it looks extremely interesting. Typically anything from NRS is top quality and they have done there testing and research. I will be very interested to see on in person. I am sure this will be the hit of 2013.

More to come on Floatfisher.

Wish I Was There!

For those who have had the opportunity to float the wildly beautiful Smith River, you know what I am
speaking of ! The views from the shitter's are spectacular and not to be missed. Summer is the time when the meadows are stunning and fishing is excellent.

Ditch Sketch's - Sunday Morning

The weekend was filled with river chores on Saturday, time to clean the boats, fresh coat of 303 and restock the boxes. This must mean one thing. FALL is in the air. Time to get ready for Football and
the home stretch of the fishing season 3 more months to go, Yippee...... It is my favorite time, trees turn,
the so so fisherman, go hunting and get off the rivers, and the fishing gets really good just about everywhere. Yippee...

Sunday mornings view of river at the put-in. Had the river to ourselves, never saw another boat, thats what I call a great day on river, catching fish is a bonus.

Photo's from DA Ditch #14

A little old school photo of Floatfisher's ride. I love the bridge and the day was beautiful. Many good times are had from this mid point.
Riverbottom, a combination of water ripples and the facinating colors of the river bottom. No wonder fish love the river.

Ms. Floatfisher has hijacked the blog today to wish Floatfisher a Very Happy Birthday on his special day.  How much fun it is that we get to celebrate back to back.  We have taken a rare weekend off from fishing and enjoyed the Broncos last night from some great seats.  Thanks for another great year of fun and can't wait for what is yet to come.

" The End is Near"

Sometimes you catch it right, and it looks just like the end is near.
Isn't mother nature great.

Photo of the Day- "Moon Glow"

Might have been a good night to throw streamers, a full moon throwing a glow on the river

3D Painting by Mike Savlen

Check out Mike Savlen's bitchin art work. Using up to 50 layers of acyrlic paint and then washing the painting on a single piece creates that 3d or hologram effect feeling that you can reach right in and grab the fish. Check out Mike's great work at: www.savlenstudios.com

Happy Anniversary- Ms. Floatfisher

As we celebrated our 12th Anniversary weekend on the river, as we normally do somewhere in the west, Ms. Floatfisher displays a couple of 555 fish. You may ask why we call them 555 fish. Because she is married to a freak like me she is luck enough to get up each fishing day at ungodly hours to get the boat on the water.  Then we to the same in the evenings. She always has a smile on her face.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BABE!

Scene's from the Ditch # 10

As we all know it is not all about the fishing, many, many times we are treated to sights and sounds the
the river surroundings provide us, this weekend was no different. The full moon provided some spectacular photo opportunities.

Keeping it in the Family

As I posted last month, flyfishing runs deep in the Kuchynka and Haag family, and I am
I am always proud to show off some accomplishments of my cousins. Not only is Kane a
proud new papa to a beautiful baby girl, but in true Kuchynka style he is breaking in his new
Hyde Drift boat in kick ass fashion.
Big foam takes another on the Southfork of the Snake.
