New Toy for Floatfisher

It's been a long summer of fishing, work and fishing. So yesterday Floatfisher , decided we need to step outside of the "green" comfort zone (Winston) and purchase a new Colorado made Scott rod. After have the opportunity to cast and fish the rod, I found it to have the right line speed for my casting style, and nice from the boat at summer water flows.

This will be a fine addition to our ever growing line of rods. Now, what reel do we have to put on it, or is that the next Toy!! Wait to see.

EPIC Day on the Ditch-

There are really good day's of fishing and then there are day's like today that are EPIC. When the stars
align and everything is in sync, the weather, the water, the flies, and most importantly, a great day with
my wife on the river.  Today was one of those days when all the fish were in "skinny" water. Nothing is
better than throwing flies, seeing the "sip" the fly and set and explosion in 4-6" water. This happened all day long.

Had the opportunity to throw a new Scott stick all weekend, 9' - 4 wt. . What a sweet piece, appreciate
the trial of the rod,  Charlie.  I will be putting in our order for one.

When casting your fly hurts

You know it could be a long day when you start off by impaling yourself with a #4 Streamer. Ouch!!

Southfork Memories- Part 2

What a great way to spend your Birthday, with you wife, fishing and on your favorite river. What
more could Floatfisher ask for.......  Not much, the river provided it all. Thanks to our host of the
day,  Bob Blyth for rowing us and providing a fabulous meal.

Southfork Memories- Part I

Got the opportunity to head up to Idaho Falls to visit relatives and do a little fishing on our favorite
river, the South Fork. Spent day one celebrating Floatfisher's B-day fishing the canyon section and spending a great day with my wife (pictures to follow tomorrow). Day 2 was spent with my cousin Kane, fishing the upper river, which was very nice and productive.

Awe, another beautiful SF Cutty!

Switching from the streamer rig to a nymph rig

A few left over golden stones due to very high water and
cool water. It was alright,  because the fish were
still eating them.

Darn red copper johns work everywhere

Weekend Wedding- "The McRae Photo essay by floatfisher"

Well, it was one of the very rare weeks away from the river for Floatfisher and The Mrs. We ventured
down to the lovely Phoenix area for the rare summer wedding. One must never under estimate the summertime beauty of Arizona. Morning time highs of 90 degree's only to soar to 104/ 106.  Throw in a little humidity and it was special. Well enough of crotchety old Uncle Floatfisher, the weekend was not
about me, it was for Sirel and Jessica. Their special time. Everything was beautiful, and glad we got to share the time with friends, new friends and family and meet new family members. Enjoy a couple of photos from the wedding and festivities surrounded by the wedding.
