Solo Ride

As the season winds down, a float down your favorite section
of river let you reflect on the great season , friends you fished with,
places you wished you had gotten too, and all rises that were missed.
That one Solo Ride, lets you actually look up and around to see the things
that were missed, the peace and solitude of the river.
Oh, that Solo Ride.....

Came across this nice little video short by Chris Lewis, entitled " Long Paddle". Look like it chronicles
a few stellar trip's on the SUP's. Sure looks like a cool way to fish and do shallow water overnighter.
Check out Skinny Water Culture as these guys have it dialed. Enjoy a little Saturday cinema, with you Bailey's and coffee.

" Long Shot" by The Fly Collective

A real nice video short by The Fly Collective on Jay Zimmerman and Erin Block, on the addiction to
carp fishing. Always nice to see that you can enjoy your passion without having a million dollars and having to spend it on exotic destinations. Hats off to both Jay and Erin.
Jay is the one of the front men at Charlie's Flybox, and a hell of a fly tier. Erin, you can read her daily on Midcurrent, the daily buzz on flyfishing and the happenings.
Check it out..

Done..Finished..Ready for Donation

The first of three donations by Floatfisher was finished today, as these two boxes will be donated and auctioned off in the upcoming Cutthroat Chapter - TU in Denver, CO on November 11th. It is the little things that I can do to help fund the fine kids programs, conservation projects and stream restoration projects this group puts on.
Midge Box contains 96 assorted gems for the various Colorado waters.
Never to be outdone by the other donors and tiers, Floatfisher is all about presentation. I found this great Cliff Box in Casper, WY. Not only your flybox, but art by Ty Hollock is added to the front of this box. Signed and numbers this should be a hit.
143 Assorted foam and dries complete this box. Ready to be slapped into your boat box and be fished.
Bid high and often.....

Kingery's Black Ice

A very hard fly to find in many flyshops, but an extremely effective pattern that can be tied to imitate the many different spring, summer and fall hatches, just by changing the colors of the materials. Larry Kingery from Colorado , signature tier for Idylewilde Flies is the orginator of this pattern.

"Vermillion" by Kitchen Sink Studios Inc.

Having spent many fine days on the Colorado River at Lee's Ferry, this film brought back many fine memories. Growing up in Arizona, I had the great fortune of spending many great days in this canyon. The waters majestic, the cliff walls truly breath taking, and the fish equally as nice.

A really nice film, job well done by the folks a Kitchen Sink Studios. Absolutely stunning work.
Enjoy with a nice Bailey's and coffee this morning.

Saturday on the Ditch

As the season winds down, we got the opportunity to spend yet another day on our favorite river admiring the changing colors of the cottonwoods, the amazing reds, golds and yellows of the aspens and the gin clear water that fall brings. As an added bonus, there was a fresh dusting of snow in the hills. Fall is in full swing.
Anchor set in shallows, on a sun filled day.
A fresh dusting of snow in the hills, beautiful colors in the foothills.

Brilliant blue waters framed by golden willows and willing brown trout.
Floatfisher doning his new fishing lid. Perfect for the day.

One of the best parts of fishing with your fishing buddies is checking out all there bugs, The last couple
of days we go to try each others bugs and check out some real nice fly boxes. I only wish mine were this nicely organized. Very nice box Gerry.

Yet another bo box, neatly organized with every size and color, just ready to be fished.

I need help. Welcome Gerry!!
