On the Road Again-

As the great Willie Nelson sings, "On the Road Again", Floatfisher has planned another adventure
to see more water this year. Although we will not be adding a new river to our growing list,
we will be visiting our favorite river,  the South Fork of the Snake. I am super geeked at the
opportunity to spend the day celebrating my wife's 25th Birthday on the river catching some
fine Cuttthrout trout.  In addition, I will have the opportunity to celebrate my 46th Birthday
the next day and spend the day with my cousin, Kane. We have not had the opportunity to
spend time flyfishing yet and I look forward to the day.

Watch out South Fork, here we come. Although there are other rivers to come before, rainbow
and brownfish to catch in between.

Weekend Accident-

Well, I have not broke a rod in some time, but my luck ran out this weekend, as were fishing
double dry's on a perfect stretch of water. Not sure what has happened over the course of time
but went to set the hook and boom, snapped at top of the second ferrell. Although it mean't not
fishing the final mile of the float, we had a million dollar day to that point.

Will send it back to Winston for repair and have to look for new one? Again, damn the luck.
Just when you think you have everything, something like this brings you down to earth. You never know! What to look for?

Great to be back on the home water after a very long lay off. The water started off at over 2000 cfs. and ended the beautiful weekend at around 1600 cfs. You have got to love falling and clean water. All the elements that can make up EPIC fishing conditions, and it did.

Had the opportunity to fish C. Craven Double Gonga with many successes to the net and amazing chases and swipes. Very cool to see. Large PMX's and Amy's Ants worked consistently till midmorning and then throwing double dries.

Water, fishing and weather so nice had to do morning and evening floats to settle the fishing fever. Can't wait as more water opens.

Time to start fishing the home rivers

Well finally, it appears several of our home rivers are starting to recede and move into floating and fishing shape. We are now leave our great Montana trips a distant memories, only to replace them with new fabulous one from Colorado. I cannot wait for next week to get out and catch some of the Arkansas River rainbow and brown. The streamer boxes are loaded and will be ready to rip some fish off those banks, equally as exciting will be all the fish waiting to suck down those PMX and foam flies. Yes, I am pumped.

Boat is cleaned up and ready, Bring on Colorado summer fishing, Finally.

Montana Dry Fly fishing at its finest

Only a face a mother could love,  not sure which one were talking
about though.

Shots from the Dearborn River

Beautiful old RR bridge brought in for
 a ranchers private bridge.

Stunning canyon walls, many in Montana call
this the "mini Smith River" float.

Running the small chute.

The Prize

Mary's  prized brook trout, it has been many
years since she has caught one of these
