Fishing the Missouri River

Had the opportunity to fish the mighty "Mo" yesterday and all I can say wow. Although we fished in a 12 hour straight rain/drizzle mixed with wind, the fishing was pretty damned good. The water was raised a 1000 Cfs while we were on the river, which did not alter the fishing too much. It appeared to stir up more food for the large Brown fish and rainbow fish. Fly of choice was the almighty worm.

I can not believe the size of fish that we caught, the first few fish seemed to average 17-20". And man do they fight. Wish I could post a little fish porn, but have not figured out the technology to do it off the IPad. More fish to catch today, maybe the Madison, not sure with the rain yesterday.

Caddis Pupa

Caddis On the Arkansas River

Late April and May mean caddis on the Arkansas River. Oh what a lovely time, but Oh the hoards
of people to contend with.  Fish taking nymphs and pupa in the morning, double dry rigs in the
afternoon. Good Time, Good Times. Get out and fish before the water comes up, and get too difficult to wade.

Graphic Caddis takes another.
