HUGE Saturday Event

 Well maybe in my own mind. I have been asked again by Charlie to join 

his list of weekly tiers to share wisdom and new patterns to those who do love fly tying.

I will again try to bluff my way through another year, by tying some of my favorites and even new

patterns too amaze those that show up.

GT Emerger

Made popular by Gordon Tharrett on Green River below Flaiming Gorge. 

This simple but effective emerger pattern should garner several spots in you flybox.

Most every flutier should have these materials at hand.

Hook:  TMC 2488/2499, Sz 14-16
Thread: Olive / Grey
Bead: Black Plastic
Body: Veevus Grey/ Olive 8/0
Rib: Small Uni Wire Black
Thorax: Grey / Olive Superfine Dubbing
Hint- Use small piece of Uni wire to twist bead in place on top
of fly, secure with x wraps and dubbing.

Had the opportunity to watch a fateful weekend of football and experiment and test some new patterns, and prep a little for my tying demonstration at Charlies Flybox ned Saturday morning. Come one come all, Fishing will be limited and NO football to distract you.

Every great artist has there pallet of paints, I would call this "mine", as I have my mat of misc. beads and hooks at the ready, when a new idea or concept comes into my mind.

The top of the bench, candle, ash tray and other items become the holding area's for the concept and "idea" flies. Currently the top is over flowing, it is now time to get out and test them, catch fish, and see what needs tweaking...
